Redmond Home Exterior Upgrades
These long time clients knew fall was right around the corner and contacted us for several exterior remodeling needs. First, Roger and Wendy needed to replace the roof of their Redmond home as it had been over twenty years since the original installation. It was mossy and worn and with the rainy weather only a few months away, they wanted to have it replaced so that leaks would not be a concern.
Their deck, installed over a decade ago, was a favorite gathering spot at the end of the day but it had a few issues that needed addressing. A beautiful fir tree that the deck had been built around had grown significantly in size and now almost touched it. In addition, the deck supports were sinking due to natural erosion over time leading to sagging decking, while rotten rafter tails and fascia boards needed replacing. The railing also needed upgrades for safety.
Other spots around the home showed a few damaged siding boards that needed replacement and Wendy and Roger wanted a new garage door and also to upgrade several of their exterior doors as they were scratched and worn and didn’t give the best first impression.
Job Manager Omar got to work repairing the damaged siding and removing the gutters so that the 3800 sq ft roof could be replaced with a Certainteed Presidential TL shake in Aged Bark, and new gutters were installed afterwards. The team then stained the home’s exterior, so the newly repaired siding blended seamlessly with the original. The deck required a little more attention. We jacked it up to a level position and dug large holes and poured concrete around new support posts to provide a solid base. The underneath patio was similarly rebuilt so that entrance and exit from the lower level of the home was safe and functional. We reworked the frame of the deck and modified the railing nearest the tree to allow for continued growth while making certain the deck was usable and the structural integrity wasn’t in question.
Finally, the new front door and garage door were installed, upping the home’s curb appeal. After replacing the French door to the deck it was stained, installed and looks beautiful. Roger and Wendy have lived happily in their home for quite some time now, and with these new upgrades they’re thrilled to know it’s ready for many more years.
