A Simple and Beautiful Outdoor Covered Kitchen
Clients Dane & Kendall had a patio in the back of their Redmond home, but they couldn’t maximize its use given our wet climate. Avid entertainers, the couple wanted to be able to host friends and neighbors for dinner without having to either bring the party inside or cancel plans altogether if the weather turned bad.
The McAdams team went to work to create a covered patio structure to give them year-round use of their outdoor space and upgrade their options for outdoor dining. The interior ceiling boards and beams of the structure are wrapped in clear cedar, creating an attractive look. The added outdoor kitchen includes a stone island which houses a gas barbeque, small refrigerator, roll-out trash can and recycle bin for easy entertaining. A granite countertop provides a strong and functional surface for meal preparation. The roof of the structure provides protection from the elements, while six skylights provide optimal light. In the evenings the couple can utilize the recessed lighting that flanks the sides of the roof structure, along with two pendant lights over the dining area, for evening enjoyment.
The couple is very happy with their covered outdoor kitchen and look forward to many days of outdoor entertainment.
