From Crumbling to Crisp – A Kirkland Bathroom Remodeling Story

A long-time client in Kirkland contacted us because his primary bathroom had a slow leak that he’d been watching. The leak, combined with the dated interior, spurred the decision to tackle a bathroom remodel.

The existing bathroom was a wet room style, and the source of the leak was the large jacuzzi tub which he didn’t use. The shower was small and cramped due to the large tub. In his new bathroom design we removed the tub in order to create a larger shower, which allowed for increased comfort and provided more opportunity for aging in place.

Upon removing the tub and crumbling tile, the source of the leak was found and the offending pipe replaced. New boards restored the floor so that it was structurally sound and ready for the new shower tile. The client chose a beautiful square porcelain tile in gray with a slate inlay for the shower walls. He also selected a rain shower waterhead for one side and an adjustable shower head for the adjacent one, both in stainless steel. A stainless steel grab bar on the alternate wall offered stability. A corner shelf in the same tile as the walls provided a place for his toiletries, and a privacy window was installed to allow for fresh air on warm days.
