A Dog’s Haven

Man’s best friend got a room upgrade during a recent remodel. The couple’s two pets, Max and Abby, already had a multi-purpose room in their owner’s Woodinville house that served as doggie headquarters, and also featured additional pantry storage for the nearby kitchen. The existing room had the same dark cherry cabinetry and dark granite countertops as the kitchen. A small, college size refrigerator sat on the counter for the dog’s food and their water bowls were on the floor in inside a small workspace area. A sink for cleaning out the dog bowls existed, but it was small and the faucet wasn’t ideal.

The newly remodeled dog room now has upgraded white maple cabinetry consistent with the newly remodeled kitchen. The Taj Mahal quartzite countertops house a pizza oven that is the room’s only nod to its human occupants. There is a stainless steel work sink with a Kingston Brass pull down faucet and a stainless steel dishwasher for dog related cleaning, along with a new, slightly larger built-in refrigerator for fresh dog food storage. The floor area for the dog bowls is larger than before, which allows for a better view of the beautiful new tile flooring. So, while saying something has “gone to the dogs” is not usually a good thing, in this case, the room is definitely an upgrade for these happy pups.
