Top Three Maintenance Tips for the Fall
Seasonal changes can be hard on a home if you aren’t on top of your fall home maintenance. Here are the things we suggest you tackle this month.
- Evaluate your home’s chimney and fireplace. Both are heavily used items when the weather changes, but if they aren’t in good condition they can cause serious health issues.
- Take a walk around your home to check for any hazards. Check your roof to see that all looks to be in good shape and call your favorite handyman for any siding care needs. Bushes too close to the siding can provide bugs easy entrance into your home, and tree limbs can be a damage-risk during storms. Trim both as appropriate.
- We are entering into our colder season so it’s time to have your heating system serviced while temperatures are still relatively moderate. Address any problems and be sure to change out your filters, especially after a few smokey months.
Finally, change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide monitors and consider additional insulation in your attic to ensure optimal warmth this winter.
